Haivision – Secure real-time video for ISR and command environments

ObsimaNews & Events

Canadian based company Haivision has long been part of Obsima’s supplier portfolio and offers solutions for secure, low-latency and reliable video streaming in mission-critical environments.

Video streaming for mission-critical environments

Haivision’s technology is particularly relevant in applications where video and meta data need to be transmitted from sensors and platforms to operators, analysts and decision-makers, even when networks are constrained or vulnerable to interference.

For Obsima, Haivision is an important complement to our wider portfolio within ISR, situational awareness and tactical systems. Their solutions enable real-time transmission of full-motion video, FMV, and KLV meta data from e.g. UAVs, vehicles, fixed installations, maritime platforms or other sensor carriers.

Makito, Kraken and Kobra

The product range includes Makito X1 Rugged, an ultra-compact and rugged video encoder for low-latency streaming of video and meta data, as well as Kraken, Haivision’s platform for real-time processing, transcoding and optimization of video streams in complex networks.

With Kraken X1 Rugged, parts of this functionality are moved closer to the sensor, supporting tactical edge environments where local processing, bandwidth optimization and rapid access to information are critical.

Haivision has also highlighted Kobra, an AI-supported ISR video operations platform. The platform combines live video, visual feeds and contextual metadata into a single operational view, with the aim of enabling faster situational awareness in operational environments.

Video over constrained and variable networks

A practical strength of Haivision’s solutions is the ability to adapt video streams to available bandwidth and receiving systems. This makes the technology relevant in environments where video needs to be distributed over, for example, tactical radio networks, satellite links, mesh networks or other communication solutions with variable capacity.

Demo Equipment within the Obsima Group

Within the Obsima Group, there is an opportunity to demonstrate parts of Haivision’s solutions using demo equipment. This gives our customers the opportunity to evaluate the technology more closely, see how the video chain works in practice and discuss relevant applications based on their own operational needs.

For our customers, Haivision helps create better conditions for establishing a coherent video chain where important information can be shared quickly and securely.
